Washington D.C.'s New Pet Product Company
It’s common to talk politics, law, education and medicine in and around the Washington D.C. metro area. However, there’s a new talk brewing among residents that is gaining popularity. That talk isn’t just people talk. Dogs and people alike are exceptionally happy to share in the fun and joy of playing with unique dog toys and treats by Wigzi. Wigzi’s toy and treat ideas are fueled by the passion of two young entrepreneurs who live and work in this city.
Nathan Chefetz and Cade Goldenberg, both co-founders, became friends after meeting while walking their two dogs Sonny and Wyatt. Soon after discovering how like-minded they were and that both their educations focused on business, the ideas started flowing. Nathan and Cade decided to create dog toys for their pets out of household materials combined with a dash of ingenuity. Within a few months, neighbors and dogs around the Glover Park residences began to share in the enthusiasm!
By this point the Wigzi team had formed, and it was time to get down to the business of mass building the durable toys that their own dogs had grown to love. “I’m sick of rubber-smelling toys,” said Nathan. “And I need a strong toy that floats and glows,” said Cade. That was 2007, and today the duo has produced and sold more than 80,000 toys nationally, with over 800 stores carrying their products. In 2011 Wigzi stepped it up a notch to become the second company in the world to produce a USA-made toy and companion treat line. The treats fit perfectly in the toys’ dual treat pockets and won’t easily roll or fall out, ensuring long-lasting playtime for dogs!
Cade and Nathan both look forward to continuing to make innovative pet products right here at home. They took a risk to start a business during these tough economic times, when most people run the other way. The Wigzi team looks forward to defying the odds and building a successful pet products company, all the while creating jobs within Washington D.C. and the rest of the country!

Rubber Smells!
Now that we've got your attention, read this and think twice about buying smelly rubber toys. Its not pleasant for anyone, not even your best friend. Ever walk down the isle of a pet store and stand in front of the dog toy section? You might have noticed the intense rubber smell that fills the air. The toys look fun and have all kinds of funky shapes, colors and features but boy do they stink! Some dogs play with anything but if you put a rubber toy in front of my dog he'll sniff and turn away in seconds with a curled lip.
So if you were a dog, would you want to play with a smelly rubber toy or even chew on it? I highly doubt it.
Wigzi makes all of our toys from an advanced material that has no rubber smell. We take it a step further and add a slight vanilla scent that is irresistible. Wigzi has zero BPAs or Phthalates, uses FDA approved material and is also recyclable. Wigzi believes in TTQ (total toy quality)...yes we just made this up, but it's true. Every toy is hand built, hand packed and checked for quality along the way. Finally a dog toy that smells great and is 100% non toxic. As a bonus we added a treat pocket to every toy so your best friend can chew and fetch without getting bored quickly.
